OKLAHOMA CITY—The Oklahoma Ford Dealers are hosting Wide-Open Wednesdays at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum beginning September 1. The special promotion offers the public free admission on 12 consecutive Wednesdays concluding November 17.
“Your Oklahoma Ford Dealers would like to invite everyone to spend their Wednesday’s this fall celebrating the best of the old West and it won’t cost a thing,” said Kyle McQuaid, spokesman for Ford. “The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum is a national treasure of American history right here in Oklahoma, and we are pleased to partner with the Museum to make this attraction available to more people across the state.”
McQuaid added, “This is the perfect opportunity to take advantage of this Museum and learn about the legacies that have shaped the way we live today, including special exhibits like the Traditional Cowboy Arts Association 12th Anniversary show opening September 25 and “American Indian Printmakers from The Silberman Collection,” opening October 1.
“It is always a challenge to entice citizens from any community to take advantage of the attractions in their own locale,” said Chuck Schroeder, executive director, “but we know that once they discover the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, they return with family and friends.”
Schroeder added, “This is the seventh consecutive year that Ford has advertised this promotion in support of our heritage and culture. We think the Oklahoma Ford Dealers really are the ‘Best in Oklahoma.’”
Additional educational programs and activities are planned in conjunction with several of the exhibitions. For a complete schedule or more information about the Museum, go to www.nationalcowboymuseum.org or call (405) 478-2250. While admission is free on Wide-Open Wednesdays, groups of 10 or more are encouraged to make advance reservations to help facilitate their visit.
Nationally accredited, the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum is located in Oklahoma City’s Adventure District at the junction of I-44 and I-35. America’s Premier Western Heritage Museum™ offers annual memberships that include year-round admission for six people, subscription to the award-winning, quarterly magazine Persimmon Hill and discounts for events and The Museum Store.
