OKLAHOMA CITY—Visit the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum for three exciting Trunk Shows, June 11-12, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Shoppers will enjoy these special events offered by The Museum Store in conjunction with the opening weekend of the Museum’s prestigious Prix de West® Invitational Art Exhibition and Sale.
This year’s showcase vendors are jewelry designer Rocki Gorman, Rawhide, a Norman, Oklahoma store that carries luxury Western home furnishings and fashions, and W. Todd Handbags. In addition to the Trunk Shows during Prix de West, there also are special opportunities to buy art-related books and meet authors and artists at The Museum Store.
This is the first time for Rocki Gorman to show at the Museum. Her passion shines through Native American made creations employing Navajo silversmiths and continuing a longstanding tradition of quality, handmade, American-made jewelry with sterling silver and assorted gemstones. Her designs are contemporary and geographically comfortable from Maine to California. Gorman will be in attendance to offer customers personal jewelry consultations. Look for her and her merchandise inside The Museum Store.
A regular at major Museum events since 2008, Rawhide reflects the tastes of owner Angie Bailey. The store’s sophisticated ranch styles in luxury Western furnishings and fashions are appealing for their sense of comfort, style and tradition. Angie Bailey’s involvement, along with her husband Jim Bailey, D.V.M, is representative of businesses and individuals finding ways to contribute financial support to the Museum.
The Museum Store recently began carrying W. Todd Handbags. This vendor produces beautiful handbags made from South African cowhides.
A portion of proceeds from Trunk Show purchases directly helps the Museum fulfill its mission to preserve and interpret the evolving history and cultures of the American West for the education and enrichment of its diverse audiences. The Museum Store is under new management, offering guests an expanded shopping experience. In addition to traditional products, shoppers can find everything from stylish Western fashion and home accents, to unique gift items.
Free parking is available. Those attending the Trunk Show should not be deterred by visitor volume at the Museum, which is hosting many activities simultaneously.
The Museum Store at the National Cowboy Museum is located in Oklahoma City’s Adventure District at the junction of I-35 and I-44. The Museum and Store are open daily.
